Accounts of these sightings exhibit considerable variation, encompassing everything from distant lights to detailed descriptions of uncommon aerial phenomena.

Driving home on election night on Long Island, New York, 1960, my father spotted something. As we turned into our neighborhood, he raced to our house, and above it was a saucer-shaped object with lights blinking different colors around the rim, about 40 to 50 feet up, hovering for about a minute without any sound. It then moved across the street for a few seconds and sped off.

When I was about 9 years old I was playing Combat with my 2 younger brothers and a friend in our backyard. I looked up at the sky and saw an elongated egg-shaped craft that had 3 dayglo colors that blended into each other. It was pink, orange and light-green with tinted red lights on the bottom of it. I banged on the kitchen window calling frantically, “Mom, Dad come to the window and look outside!” Mom was first and called my Dad. They both looked out and saw it. It seemed to be surrounded by a mist — it wasn’t clearly defined. It arced from the west and evaporated in the east over Roosevelt Race Track. Our friend ran home crying and screaming, knocking over our garbage cans in the process. Ellison Ave. separated our backyard from Carle Place. This UFO was silent.

I was driving West on the Northern State Parkway when I noticed lights in the sky ahead of me, moving slowly in a line and traveling from South to North. I continued driving until I was past the Post Avenue exit and almost under the lights, then pulled onto the soft shoulder. There were dozens of cars parked, with people all looking skyward.

I have no idea how many lights there were since I did not see the beginning, but I did observe at least 8, which were yellow-orange in color and emitted no noise. An odd thing at the end of the line occurred: the object that was second from last moved out of position, passed the one in front of it, and got back in line, thus becoming the third from the end.

The next day I contacted MacArthur Field, and the Suffolk Air Force Base who claimed they had heard nothing. The local Police Department, however, said their phones were ringing off the hook.

On May 9, 1967, I contacted Project Blue Book, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio, giving pertinent information in detail and received a 7 page form to be filled in and returned, which I did.

I received a letter from Major Hector Quintanilla advising me that I was watching “an aircraft with an electrical advertising sign.” Note my second paragraph, last sentence about the object that changed position. Also, if it was an aircraft, it would have had to be tremendously large.

I was home in my room and looked out my window to see this very large, white object gliding across the sky going west to south-east. It had a band of flashing lights through the center of it and it was traveling faster than a blimp would. It was saucer-like shaped and had a bright, illuminating glow of white as its color. The sighting lasted about 3–4 minutes. Three people witnessed it. There was only one aircraft traveling across the sky. The night sky was very calm that night, with no obstructions of what we had seen. I was able to take a picture of the object as it flew by. The aircraft did not make any loud sounds. This occurance happened between 12:30 and 12:40 a.m.

My wife and I are educated professionals. We were driving northbound on the Wantagh Parkway in Nassau County, Long Island, New York on Friday evening. It was a clear cool night and as we approached Hempstead Turnpike, I noticed what appeared to be a glowing disc. I must admit it appeared to be very similar to those I have seen on TV documentaries about UFOs. There was a light emitting from the top downward to create the shape of the saucer. The color of the light was whitish-blue. I pointed it out to my wife who also had the same reaction of awe as I did. I noticed that it wasn’t moving in a straight line. First it moved toward the east, then slightly north, then ultimately westbound until we lost it behind some trees. Because of its appearance and movement, we knew it couldn’t have been a plane, heliocopter or even a blimp. I assumed it would be clearly seen by thousands and checked the Saturday and then Sunday newspaper, Newsday. No one had reported it.

My neighbor and I saw a flat rectangular shaped thing flip-floping in one spot. That same day, I saw something with my husband at the beach. A reflective object in one spot not moving. I am a artist, my husband is a pilot, my neighbor is a cop.

There were lights on the object. There was an aura or haze around the object. The object emitted beams. The object made no sound. A space ship was descending to the ground. There was one space craft that seemed to be landing. The craft was really low, a little above the height of a tall tree. The space ship was parallel to us while we were driving, but eventually we got away from it and it was no longer in our field of vision.

There were lights on the object. Bright blue lights. Over Long Island, moving, then stopped, then disappeared. The facts are as follows:

Flying object was under control of intelligent decision-making life. It moved left to right then stalled for at least 4 minutes, then disappeared in the blink of an eye. A singular blue light, not blinking, not pulsing, no other aircraft, no tall buildings in that area or in that direction. I live 10 minutes from there so it’s an area I am very familiar with.

Pictures were taken in the parking lot of Roosevelt Field Mall facing east. I can provide exact location for an investigation. I was parking in the last spot in the row so it’s easy to get proper perspective and backdrop for analysis.

I was not that far off in distance, weather was overcast and rainy so long distance sight was not an option.

I was driving down Jericho Turnpike in Syosset, NY at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday night. I was heading east and right past Underhill Boulevard I saw 3 orange lights in the sky in the shape of the big dipper. I thought it was cool that I could see it and then realized that it wasn’t the big dipper!

Then 2 more came into sight. I pulled over to the left in a parking lot and got out of the car to look. They were moving slowly in the same pattern — the 3 of them and the 2 trailing. They were bright orange, not flashing.

Three men came out of a restaurant and I asked them what they saw and they said “I guess it’s a plane.” I asked them if they were sure, they said no, but they didn’t know what it could be. It had to be about 10 minutes since I first saw them and then they slowly went out of sight towards the North sky. There might have been a glow around the edges. I took out my phone to take a picture, but the parking center sign was too bright. It was very cool!

At 10:50 p.m., I stepped outside my house to throw garbage out in trash can, and decided to pick grapes on my fence in front of my house. I turned around and looked up to the sky towards my neighbor’s home looking for the big moon that was present this past week. It was somewhat cloudy, but I noticed between my home and my neighbor’s house 4 disc-shape objects hovering fairly low, as they appeared large, unlike stars. All were whitish/very pale tinted bluish in color and the 4 discs were traveling in a circular motion and all the discs were evenly spaced.

I called channel 12 news. The man at the station took my information and number and said someone would call me. I walked to the middle of our homes to view it better and I was trying to figure out if they were spot lights of some sort from a local park or something else but after approx 3–4 minutes the whole formation began to move slowly towards the back of my home, at which time I ran into my home to get my camera and iPhone and ran back out to the front of my home and it was gone.

I proceeded to run toward the back of my house in the back yard to see if I could see anything but nothing was noted.
